The Preschool Years Language and Literacy Tips for Parents & Families
在家也可以支持学龄前儿童的语言和读写發展
According to The Office of Head Start, dual language learners “are the fastest growing population of young children in the U.S” (Center, 2019). Through different studies, sources, and works of research, many activities and strategies are developed to support these children and their families both at school and at home. The following activities are for parents and families to use with their children in order to support language and literacy learning at home.
Key Words:
- In order to connect with others and be success in later school readiness, children need language and literacy skills.
- Speaking home language with your children is important because it's the first connection with you, your family, your culture and your community.
- In home language and/or English, you can support your child's language and literacy skills through reading and telling stories to your child, sharing songs, and rhymes.
